Dear Southern Colorado Tea Party Membership:

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to send me your thoughts and ideas on the tea party movement that has been sweeping this great nation for the past 19 months.  Each week I would like to highlight individual member’s responses to the question “Why I Joined the Southern Colorado Tea Party”. After all, our members are the ones who are the energy of the Tea Party and sharing each other's experiences can be a powerful connection. Why We Joined the Southern Colorado Tea Party

We joined the T-Party because we became  distressed at the direction our country is heading. We want  our children and grandchildren
to grow up in much the same environment as we did.  We need to encourage pride in the true history of our country (not the current re-write of
history). We need to know and have pride in our founding fathers for their version of a nation that provides freedom and individual opportunity so that its citizens may achieve the level of prosperity commensurate to their individual energy, desire and abilities.

The psychological and ethical energy that coursed through our citizens are becoming casualties in the relentless pursuit of
political correctness that denigrates the individual in the belief that he/she can exist only if our government is entrusted to provide for all their needs.

The current political correctness is driving our once proud and
powerful nation toward third world status.  This is untenable!!!

The Southern Colorado Tea Party takes issue with all forms of Racism,

Big Government, High Taxes, and a Living Constitution.

The primary focus of the Southern Colorado Tea Party continues to be on the heavy combination of taxes imposed by Federal, State and Local Governments, hence, the “Taxed Enough Already” (TEA) slogan.  As this grass roots movement has grown, more emphasis has been placed on reducing the size of government while emphasizing the importance of our constitutional Republic.

It has become clear to most taxpayers that our federal government continues to grow at an alarming rate while indenturing the future of our children and grandchildren as jobs continue to be lost at a rate of over 400,000 per week.

There are many good men and women across the country and in Southern Colorado that support the Tea Party causes.  These same people refuse to support any form of racism.  In fact during the July meeting the Southern Colorado Tea Party Board declared that any racist comment, act or advertisement to be offensive and will be rejected. The membership was in complete agreement.

If you are concerned about the high and ever growing level of taxes, big and bigger government, ever growing federal deficits and the movement towards a living constitution, whereby interpretation becomes more important than the written word, now is the time to get involved to bring commonsense back to all levels of government.

The Southern Colorado Tea Party holds its monthly meeting at

Pueblo Primerose Community

5055 Outlook Blvd
Pueblo, CO 81008

each third Thursday at 6:00 pm.  Put this meeting on your schedule and learn how you can help put our country our state and our local government back on a sustainable track.  You owe it to your future generations.
